How compatibility actually works: it isn't NAS-model-specific. Any Synology NAS running Surveillance Station updated to a camera's required Device Pack version supports that camera — the driver layer is shared across the whole product line. What actually varies by NAS model is how many camera licenses are bundled and the max channel ceiling for that model — see the reference table at the bottom of the page before you buy hardware.
